Inauguration ceremony of new court building at Nadiad.
T(caps)he District Court at Kheda, Nadiad was established on 01/01/1926 and was bifurcated from the judicial district of Ahmedabad.
When the District Court was established in Kheda district, the first Principal District and Sessions Judge was Mr. MI Qadri.
The headquarter of Kheda district is Nadiad. The District Court in Nadiad is located on Kapadwanj Road, Kheda, Nadiad. The present District Court building is very old, as the said building was constructed in 1925-26 at a cost of Rs. 2,10,000/-
Since then, District and Sessions Courts, Senior Civil Courts and Civil Courts (Junior Division) and Judicial Magistrate First Class Courts are functioning. After that Kheda district was divided into two districts.
Kheda and Anand from 19.03.2006. At present, there are 10 taluka courts in Kheda district. Kheda in
- Sevalia,
- Matar,
- Mehmadabad,
- Dakor,
- Thasara,
- Kapadwanj,
- Kathlal,
- Mahudha,
- Vaso and
- Galteshwar.
Nadiad itself is a taluka and is also the main town and district headquarters of Kheda district.
This district court will complete 100 years in 2025-26.

New court building:
This new court building is 5 floors high. The first floor of the new court building houses the District Sessions Court and Additional Sessions Court, and other courts have also been set up. Special central AC facilities and seating arrangements have been made for lawyers on the ground floor and first floor, and 27 courts have been established in this five-floor building.
Central filling:
A central filing station has been built on the ground floor of this new court building for filing new cases, including civil, criminal, and MACT.
Today a large number of lawyers and judges were present at the opening ceremony of the new court building and some courts were started today itself.
Lawyer and summer season:
This new court building, built at a cost of Rs 45 crore, is the only district court in the whole of Gujarat with central air conditioning. During summer, lawyers have to work in the scorching heat. Full AC has been arranged so that lawyers get special seating facilities.
